I like using FileApp. Allows you to use FTP to upload files to you iPhone. However, does not allow the ability to modify the documents.

I am looking for a good Documents app that isn't really expensive like the $10 for Documents to Go. I need access to cloud storage such as Google Docs, Dropbox and Box.net. Right now I am using Air Sharing which is great for viewing documents but I can't edit them.
Free would be best but I am willing to spend a couple of dollars on an app.
iPhone only, I don't need one that will work on an iPad as well.

I use Documents to Go. I really only do spreadsheets and although it does support .xlsx filies, it seems to corrupt them. Works fine on .xls though.
I agree - free would be wonderful, but I broke down and got the basic Documents to Go.
I am vaguely familiar with it, if only because I've used it - in one form or another - since my Palm handheld days. Its hardly wonderful, but it does allow for some basic doc / excel creation and manipulation and does allow a user to attach multiple files to emails started within the program. BTW -Thank you Apple for still not getting your act together on that front in Mail.
Meanwhile, the device Docs2Go's ability to wi-fi sync with the Docs2Go Desktop means it is heads above, say, Pages and/or iCloud, when it comes to keeping things sync'd on your device and computer.
Still, damning with faint praise.

I will also nominate Documents To Go. It's a little pricey in comparison to standard app's, but it's well worth it. Has everything you're looking for. I've been using it for a while on my iPhone 4 and love it.
I like office 2 HD so much. I would like to list some of its features: 2 HD is Word 97-2010 (.doc & .docx) compatible. It also offer Excel 97-2003 (.xls) compatibility with support for multiple worksheets. You can save documents, spreadsheets and presentations in PDF format using this app.
Pity about the restriction to iPhone in this query. While Docs2Go remains my solution here (even if manipulation and creation of docs on a tiny screen and virtual keyboard is, uh....challenging) and remains my 'go to' app on my iPad for such work, I am discovering the usefulness of CloudOn on the iPad. As long as you are online and have created a Dropbox account, Cloudon gives you the full Microsoft Office experience.
Limited to two hours connectivity at a time, but that's plenty for most.
QuickOffice Mobile Office Suite is the reliability of the app.Based on user reviews, the functionality and reliability of the software is of the highest quality. It is very useful for mobile and easy to use it.
